Action 2: Generate Document

This action merges dynamic payload data into your selected template to produce a final, downloadable document.

1. Configure the Output Formats

Select the output files you want to receive. Depending on your template type, you can generate:

  • PDF: Standard document distribution.
  • Image: Perfect for thumbnail previews (JPEG/PNG).
  • HTML/MJML: Ideal for email automation pipelines.

2. Map Your Fields

ComposeIt will automatically read your template schema and generate individual input fields right inside the Zapier editor. You can map upstream data (like Google Sheets columns or Typeform fields) directly to these variables.

  • Pro Tip: If your template schema is highly complex or nested, you can toggle the input mode to Raw JSON and map a complete structured JSON payload.

3. Test & Save Your Document

Test the action step to generate a mock document. Zapier will return a public, temporary URL to download the generated file.
